Tea Talk Tuesday

Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the apothecary. ~Chinese Proverb

With the amount of tea I've been drinking lately the apothecary should be bankrupt!

photo used with permission from Ayumi of Pink Penguin.

Have you seen these absolutely darling tea pots by Ayumi of Pink Penguin? She has such a great color sense and the best fabrics! Ayumi is the creator of those darling fabric baskets we've all been addicted to. How is this for inspiration! Thank you very much Ayumi for giving me permission to share your photo.

Sarah, 12 years old, is half of the Australian mother/daughter blog duo at A Spoonful of Sugar. They are quite to creative team. I thought it would be fun for her to have her own tea swap partner if possible. So I'm asking if anyone participating in the swap has a creative daughter or granddaughter about this age that would like to be Sarah's swap partner. Please e-mail and let me know by January 15. Thanks!

To help get your creative juices flowing I thought I'd share some patterns for tea things. Some are quilts, wallhangings, tablerunners, and some are stitcheries and tea cozies. If you find any interesting links you'd like to share let me know. But perhaps you'll want to keep them to yourself! :o)

1. Intivation for Tea-pattern

2. Tea for Two-pattern (perhaps something you could make with teapot/cup print fabric

3. Time for Tea

4. Quilted Tea Cozy-pattern

5. Knitted Tea Cozy-free pattern

6. Teapots, cups, coffee mugs-free paper pieced patterns

7. Dancin' Teapots-free paper piecing

8. Coffee and Tea-free patterns

9. Teapots to Applique-pattern book scroll down a bit

10. Sweet Tea-patterns

I almost didn't want to share Sweet Tea. I LOVE it and wanted to keep it all to myself. This is a mother/daughter pattern design team called The Quilt Company. Arlene Stamper is one of the designers and many long years ago while living in California I was lucky to take a double wedding ring class she taught. Terrific teacher!

This should get you started. Hope I didn't give you tea overload! Have fun.

REMINDER:DEADLINE TO RSVP IS THURSDAY THE 15th.

~Piecefully, Stephanie

Hia Stephanie, thanks for the inspiration. I know there will be something in that which I can make especially for my partner. Looking forward to starting now I am more on top of stuff here.

Love the colour of the oil cloth you made the bags with- so bright and cheerful -an excellent antidote to the drizzle covering England at the mo. beautiful job on the journal covers -Eileen's and the one pictured. :-) I'll now read on and catch up with your makings.

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks so much for taking your time to collect all those nice links. I enjoyed looking at them. Thanks also for introducing my teapots. I am excited about learning to create pdfs and share the pattern with tea lovers like you ;)
