Playing with Spools

Connecting Threads generously sent me this stack of pre-release fabric to play with several months ago.  This soft and girlie line is called Ella's Wishes and is now available for purchase HERE.  I promised not to share until the date it was released for sale, which is today.

I really didn't intend to start a new project but these pretties were really calling to me.

I've had a spool project in my head and very roughly sketched for a while, inspired by my antique spool collection.  Ella's Wishes seemed perfect to test the pattern.  A very sweet baby spools quilt.  I shared another version of Vintage Spools HERE.

Part of the fun of pattern designing for me is deciding how to photograph the project.  I like to play.

The fabrics make the spools a perfect baby quilt, and the pink rick rack is so sweet. Your antique spools make a great collection and add a fine touch to the pictures.

What sweet fabric, lucky you getting to be the first to play with it. I liked clicking on the Connecting Threads site where it said 'more patterns by this designer" and seeing so many of your fantastic patterns.

Your photography is very well done, Stephanie. It gives a feeling you really have to make what you see.
The fabrics are perfect for your spools. It's as though the cup was made for them.
Your Vintage Spools pattern is such a fun project to make. I hope to finish my top this weekend!
