A Soldier and His Quilt

James loves his quilt.  He recognized his shirts and smiled.  I was so delighted to give it to him in person.

He left this morning for Fort Hood, Texas, missed already, and his quilt went with him.  Soldiers need quilts too!

With her boy gone and sensing her girl is leaving soon, Abby is in mourning.

Oh poor Abby I am sure Mum will give you lots of cuddles.

Oh, Abby looks so sad! But I expect that everyone looked like that for a while.

Such a wonderful gift for a soldier...a beautiful hug from home whenever he needs it. Looks like sweet Abby could use a hug or two as well.

Your soldier is soooo handsome in his quilt! Good job momma!

Poor Abby! Tell her to steal something from the counter, DiNozzo says it makes him feel a lot better most days.

I love the pattern on your soldier's quilt. I love soldiers...they make my heart fill with pride. Thank you for letting your son serve. People say, "God bless the troops." I say, "God bless a soldier's mother."

The look on Abby's face says it all and so does the photo of James wrapped in his quilt..

We all knew that he would love it. What a beautiful and thoughtful gift, Stephanie.

It is an amazing quilt you've made for him. And I can imagine how he is already missed. I picked up my oldest (10 and very soon 11) today after a 3 days basket camp and I tell you... He is not going anywhere anytime soon if I have anything to say about it :)

I am so glad that your quilt was so well received. Soldiers need quilts and things from home because they are far away and and usually want to have something that makes them feel in touch. Skype is great, but you can't wrap up in a monitor.

Hugs to both you and Abby! The quilt is still looking spectacular.

Poor poor Abby. She is really looking sad. And I think her mommy is a bit sad too.
Wow, what a great quilt for James! And so nice and big. Lucky you, that he had his picture taken with it.

It is so good to know that he loved his quilt, but was there ever any doubt? I know he will think of you every time he wraps himself in it. Now Abby, that is a different story... she will totally miss him until he returns home again. Give her a pat on the head for me.

Love your quilt. The pattern is perfect for a young man. I have been trying to find a pattern for my son and this would be perfect. Are you going to share your pattern for this? Have a great New Year!
