Tasty Treats

Mr. Creations always requests a cheesecake for his birthday dessert.  This year I thought I'd try a new recipe -- Lemon Ginger Cheesecake with a Gingersnap Crust.  Worth every calorie!  I used Meyer lemons -- sweet yet tart and the most amazing aroma.  I had this recipe in my stash of recipes torn from a magazine, Bon Apetit.

Dear Friends Rumi and Nonnie came over today for tea and scones.  I have my favorites but thought I'd try something new -- Rose-Walnut Scones.

The secret yummy ingredients are cardamom and rosewater, found in the Indian section of specialty grocery stores.  When serving rose scones please try rose tea!

I love my new vintage table cloth and although dainty little damask napkins might have been more appropriate I wanted to use my new handmade tea napkins.  Abby was very happy her friends came over for tea and biscuits, I mean scones.

Wow, everything looks scrumptious! Cardamom is one of my favorite spices ever. I just made Cardamom shortbread last week.

Yum! I have used gingersnaps crusts in different pie recipes. It is my favorite.
I love the scent of a Meyer lemon. I am growing my own. I got a plant last year from the farmers market.
