Looking back at old photos I wondered what I was doing five years ago before I started a blog. I made and gifted this quilt for a friend's birthday. A perfect quilt for my friend because she's colorful and funny. It's impossible for us to talk without the kind of laughing that produces tears and a sore stomach. The palm trees were in a magazine at the time and my other friend, Nonnie, went on a flamingo hunt. I did not want to paper piece so the flamingo is just pieced.
Nice legs, Mr. C. Aren't husbands great quilt holders? I wonder if they ever thought they'd be doing this when they said "I do." Do you take this woman to love, honor, cherish and hold her quilts? If they only knew...

It's interesting looking back...
LOL I like that,
Love, honor, cherish and hold quilts.......
Lovely vibrant quilt Stephanie!!
Hubbies are the best most of the time ;-)
LOL
I think taking out the garbage and bug killing are implied, but yes, the quilt holding probably took them by surprise. :)
Lovely quilt!

What a happy fun quilt! I'll still have one quilt holder left at home, before it's my husband's turn!
And did they know they were signing up to visit every quilt store on every road trip?
LOL!! What a fun quilt!
Great pieced flamingo--did you graph it out yourself? Fun fabrics on this "walking" quilt :) Mr. C seems like the kind of husband who doesn't have to be asked twice to hold a quilt! Hmm, five years ago, 2007...no recollections come to mind for me!
Great trip down memory lane, Stephanie! What a bright and cheery quilt! Mr. C is definitely a trooper!
Cheers!
Cute quilt custoom amde for your friend.
Maybe it is for the best that neither party knows everything the marriage will bring their way. He holds my quilts, I hold the other end of the measuring tape for his building projects.
the marriage vows, too funny and yes great legs! great colorful quilt too! enjoy your day and pet abby from me!
The quilt makes me think of Florida. I think ts the blue and pinks. And of course the flamingo :) when I was young Danish tv was running Miami Vice. Back then I thought it was the coolest place in the world.
I'm using my kids as quilt holders. DH is sweet and everything. But a patient quilt holder he will never be....
Believe it or not but my husband can find the errors in my cross stitch when I can't!
He also winds my DMC threads onto bobbins for me :)
What gorgeous colours are in the quilt.
I enjoyed your looking back post.
Margaret
Gorgeous quilt!
What they don't do for us, huh?
What a summery, fun quilt. It would have fit right into our home in Florida.
Oh my goodness! This quilt is so me with some of my favorite Florida things in it. And I'm living in Florida now you know... three weeks this Saturday! I love this quilt, and seeing the hub's helpful feet.
I know my husband didn´t and he has nice legs too;-0)
I just love the colors in the quilt,
and that border fabric!!!
You are a fine friend!!!
That is a cute, fun quilt!!
Fun quilt...I can really relate to the statement, "I wondered what I was doing before I started a blog." I absolutely can't imagine not having my blog...and yours was one of the first I found!
it is fun looking back, especially the fabrics that were popular at different time. Love the fabrics in this one.
Well, I certainly would not be blogging if it were not for your encouragement.
Ha! I just forces my husband to hold up a quilt for me yesterday. :) Your flamingo quilt is too cute. I love making quilts for friends, and thinking about how special they are to me through each step. x
Hi Stephanie, hope you are doing well and Abby is enjoying her summer activities!
It is a fun, pretty quilt! Looking at an earlier quilt is like going back in time :))
A delightful quilt for a friend. I love your 'i do' statement, probably just as well they didn't know they would be living with lots of fabric, pins, wadding etc as well as quilt holding! xo
I love your quilt !!!
Bravo !!!!!!!!!!
