Groovy

Mom sent a box.  I had no clue what was inside.  Calendar tea towels!  She said she knew of no one else who would appreciate them more than me.

Each year Mom bought Grandma a calendar tea towel for Christmas with the date.  Three of them are my favorites.  I love Vera!

You probably know why this one is my very favorite.

Hippie Love!

Thanks Mom for being the keeper of treasures and passing them on to me.

Those are so AWESOME Stephanie! Your Mom is the best. My favorite - 1969 - the year I graduated from high school. I actually shared a Vera scarf with my sister.

I recently bought a Vera tea towel and I am trying to figure a way to include it in a quilt. I love Vera too.

very groovy! I look for those when I go to antique stores. My mom is collecting them and going to make a quilt with them, one day.

I remember those tea towel calenders! And 1968 was my year. (HS graduation) My mom used to get one every year, but she never got any Vera ones! Or any groovy ones either. How cool that your mom kept these! I think I've got a few of my Mom's calenders hiding in the linen closet still! Must look...

Now those were the "good old days!"

My Mom had to get one of those just like them every single year. For a very long time that was one of the gifts I'd give her each Christmas. She hung hers on the wall in the kitchen near the refrigerator under the big really ugly clock she had in there. LOL Sadly, she's gone now and in going through all her things I never did run across any so she must've tossed them every year.

Love the comments so far! Looks like there are a lot of Vera fans out there a lot of "kindred spirits" in those years! Your mom is a peach!
Cheers!

What a fun box! I love the colors Vera used. Somewhere around here I have a Vera scarf, I think. Will you use these as cloths or just keepsakes?

That is wonderful! My mother in law gives us the same exact thing every Christmas as well. Maybe I should be saving them too! But I must say they aren't as "groovy and hip" as yours.

I LOVE these! You really need to make a table runner or wall hanging out of them!
