Hankies and Things

I am only recently familiar with Tammis Keefe through my tea towel and hankie hunts.  I only buy what catches my eye and I noticed this hankie is signed.   So I googled her and found THIS site.

This is definitely one of the most fun hankies I have found.

I do not collect vintage aprons, however this one caught my eye for several reasons.  It's a feedsack, I love the color and I recognized the print.

When Denyse Schmidt's Katie Jump Rope line came out I bought a charm pack and immediately started on an idea.  The quilt top has been finished for a few years now but has yet to be quilted.  Do you notice anything familiar?

If you would like to read more about Denyse's inspiration for her Katie Jump Rope collection please click HERE.

FYI -- I'm doing a little fabric destash.  Click on over HERE if you're interested.  I am happy to ship international if you send me a convo through my etsy shop.

well, that was fun shopping, sitting here in my jammies and a cup of tea. Thanks, dear lady.

The apron is precious ! The color is just beautiful.

Love the hankie, thanks for the link, how interesting. Cute apron, I'm not sure "inspired" is the word I would use.
When my son was little he loved baseball, when he found out that a couple of his favorite players were using steroids he was so disillusioned. Hmmm that's a bit how I feel about these "designers".

I would never have thought that to be a hanky. So much fun!!
Love the apron you found. It's a beautiful blue.
I agree with Lynn. Quite an easy way to design your fabrics ...

That's a wonderful find! I collect hankies and have never found a Tammis Keefe hankie or scarf. Love the apron, especially the color.

I actually remember seeing her "brand" some years ago - what a great find! I love the print on this one. Fun apron, too!
Cheers!

More great finds!
Love the apron very much. I have one vintage apron from the USA with chicken scratch embroidery.

I've heard of Tammis Keefe. Very cool hankie.

Hardly a "fresh perspective" -it is a direct rip off of the original 1930s fabric! I think she ought to be saying that she is copying the originals in order to get them re-released. That is more honest.

Yes a fun hankie! I had a very Enid Blyton or Mary Brett one as a child and another with the adage "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a child healthy, wealthy and wise" with a picture in each corner on the diagonal.
