Pretty in Pink

Yesterday morning when Abby and I went out to enjoy the backyard we discovered the lotus in bloom.

The inside of a lotus is gorgeous.  When the bloom is more open I'll share another photo.

A few weeks back I found this gorgeous vintage Vera scarf, picked it up, admired it, and placed it back on the display shelf.

I had second thoughts after I got home so I decided if it was still there when I went back it would come home with me.  Isn't it beautiful?  I kept asking myself how I could leave the polka dots behind?

This is the lotus in the afternoon light.

Beautiful flower, I love that shade of pink. There's some color inspiration there with that pink and the green of the leaves. Of course that scarf needed to come home with you. Love the dots on it.

Awesome! Love the scarf, what will you do with it? Wear it?

My mother used to wear scarves all the time. And of course my grandmother had them in many colors for going to mass.

glen: but even though I have little use for them, some reason I have a ton of them!

Love your pond, and the Lotus blooming. Can you give it a sniff and describe the scent? I've never been near one... From your picture I can see the seed pod developing inside the flower. I always wondered about that seed pod. Are the seeds really big? or does the pod grow larger to disburse the seed? Pods have always intrigued me.
