In Full Bloom

One reader asked about the scent of the lotus flower.  My description is mildly spicy, lightly floral, hints of sweet tea.

On Wednesday Abby has to have a cortisone shot in her hip for diagnostic purposes.  It requires a day at the vet hospital and sedation.  Abby heard whispers of "no food or drink after 10 PM the night before." She's looking worried.  I'd better buy her a new toy and a tasty treat so she'll forgive me.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!  Mr. Creations is taking the "labor" part seriously.  We planned on updating the upstairs bathroom eventually but when you hear a noise in the living room and look up and water is dripping from the ceiling, down the walls, soaking the carpet...well let's say the need became immediate and the repairs are more extensive than planned.  I prefer my water features to be outdoors!

Hope you're doing something fun this weekend.

~Piecefully, Stephanie

The lotus blossom is beautiful.
Love to Abby, I hope she does forgive you.
About the bath, I understand my DB just had the same problem.

Some people pay a lot of money to have a water feature in their living room! Water makes such a mess doesn't it? Hope all goes easy with the repairs. I don't enjoy the "surprises" when you try to fix things.

The lotus is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the picture. Hope the fix is easy... but they never are in reality, right? I hope you both find a little bit of down time anyway.

Beautiful flower! The colors are gorgeous. Oh no, that does signify a problem. We've had that happen before. Right now we need to get upstairs baths redone. It was the only thing we didn't update when we moved here 7 years ago. I keep looking at the ceilings below waiting for that leak.

That blossom is so beautiful it looks artificial. That yellow center is amazing! Dang about Abby! I was so hoping she was all better. I know how she feels about the no food/water thing! Pics of the new bath coming?

Beautiful blossom and poor Abby....its tough when you cant explain why! Before going into the ministry my husband was a plumbing and heating engineer so he comes in pretty handy when we have a leak!

Beautiful bloom! I am sorry that you are spending the weekend doing house repairs. I will be quilting and thinking of you!

Beautiful lotus flower! The centre looks interesting, I have one that came with a flower arrangement and I drĂed it.
Poor Abby, cortisone injections are no fun I can tell!
I hope you get the wall and ceiling dry before there is mold! A bathroom makeover is nice though.

Isn't it just beautiful! Doesn't even look real! Nice to know they have such a sweet scent, too! Abby should feel much better after her injection - we speak from experience ;>) Give her a hug for us.
Cheers!

Oh, poor Abby. She's been through so much lately. She's very fortunate to have you and Mr. Creations as parents to see her through all of this.

When I first looked, I thought that the center of the lotus blossom was fake. What a beautiful and amazing flower!

Good luck with your bathroom renos. Been there and done that and I don't envy you the mess.

Abby actually does look kind of worried.... How come she needs sedation for the shot? One of my cats needs a cortisone shot regularly and the vet just does it without sedation. He is in tip top shape for 2 weeks after each shot. Acts like a young kitten again :)

Anyway, I've had lotus something in a dim sum restaurant in the New York China Town once but seeing the lotus flower is a first for me. It is beyond beautiful. Stunning really.

Good luck with your bathroom restoration. It sounds expensive already....

Such a pretty flower. Sorry for Abby's troubles. She is not looking so good these days. She looks sad and old.
OMG and for your troubles as well. I hate the plumbing troubles. Hope yours go smoothly. (Ours were under the kitchen sink and mold grew before we noticed.)
Hugs

The lotus is gorgeous! I know I shouldn´t say so but it looks artificial just cause it´s soooo perfect! Wonderful - thanks for sharing!
Hopefully your repair won´t take too long! I mean there is so much else you rather do - both with your money and time.

Oh no...not your newly renovated living room! So sorry to hear that. Best wishes to dear Abby. She has the cutest face. Thanks for the lotus up date. The center almost looks like a yellow marshmallow with polka dots.

So sorry to hear about your hot and cold running water indoor feature. I hope it is an easy fix so that more damage can't be done.

Good thoughts to Abby.

Amazing flower- it looks so beautiful. Is it the same lotus that Egyptians used in their columns? That is meant to have a bit of a drug effect used for religious purposes.

Amazing, such a beauty!!! The colors, the leaves, everything. Even the shadow.
Poor Abby. Already feel sorry for her.
Hope the water is now where it should be again!

Wow! It is a beautiful blossom! Your pictures are wonderful, Stephanie!
I hope Abby is doing well! It's been a long month of recovery for her.. not fun for a little doggie who loves to play!

Been away from Blogland. We had company over the holiday. Our oldest granddaughter and her husband came to stay for a few days. We had a great time.
Your lotus blossoms are gorgeous. I have never had a water feature so no lotus, but they are special.

Thinking of Abby today as she goes to the vet for her shot.
She does indeed look somewhat worried in this picture but I'm sure she will be fine especially when there is a new toy to play with :)
The lotus flower is beautiful.
