At 6 AM Mr. Creations and I hopped in the car and headed to Amish Country. It's a two-hour drive and our day started in the dark. We arrived at Miller's Dry Goods quilt shop in Charm just after they opened at 8 AM. It was a big sale weekend and I know to go early!
Amish Country is my very favorite Ohio place to visit and Miller's is my very favorite quilt shop. The front is reserved for buggy parking.
These beauties were right at the front entrance to the shop and they are horsing around!
Mr. Creations and I headed over to the patterns. We like to see if any shops carry patterns by Loft Creations. It was exciting to see The Loft Tote sample and pattern hanging front and center. As I browsed the fabric one of the girls working there said she loved my bag. I was carrying my Loft Tote. One thing led to another and she was thrilled to "meet the designer." Would I mind her taking my photo with my Loft Tote and posting it on their Facebook page? I stifled a giggle and said certainly.
Next we headed to a "new to us" town called Walnut Creek. This is a small section of the massive grocery store with gift shop. I bought local cheese, butter, pasta, beef jerky, apple butter, etc...I was prepared. I brought a big ice chest, just in case.
Next stop in the same town was to an antique mall we heard about in a round about way. This was the "no parking" zone. The antique mall fantastic. Afterward we headed back to Berlin and ate lunch at our favorite place then stopped in the quilt/craft shop next door. Two patterns by Loft Creations we hanging next to Amy Butler. Mr. Creations said "you know you've made it when your patterns are in Amish Country." Silly man.
After visiting two more antique malls we got in a traffic jam as we started for home. No worries, it's better than the cars. Plus I got to enjoy the gorgeous day.
Simply beautiful!

The joy of enjoying the simple things. It is so wonderful to count your blessings and share them with your friends and acquaintances. Thanks for the trip through Amish country.
My husband and I love Amish country. We have been there 3 times this year. Just today I found a shop hop that is going on there in a few weeks. Not sure I can talk hubby into going for a 4th, time. Thanks for sharing!
What a lovely day. I like these purchases: cheese, butter, apple butter, yum!!
So neat( and well deserved) about your patterns!
I love to go to Amish Country when I visit my BFF in Ohio. And the town of Charm is so Charming :-) I have a picture of my BFF and myself in front of the sweet bridge that is located behind one of the shops. These shops have the best prices and selection of fabrics.
OOO! that last photo is simply beautiful!!!

How I would have loved to join you! But then, you let us join with the great pictures.
It must be a great feeling to see your patterns and bag. And I think your DH is right. If the Amish want it ...
What a trip down memory lane for me. My friend Barb and I used to make this an annual trip every October when I used to travel teach. How I miss it!
Your last photo is absolutely gorgeous. Picture perfect and prettier than any commercial postcard.
So what did you buy??? And how does it feel to be a celebrity? Exciting, huh?
How lovely to be able to visit the Amish community, your photo's are great and I'm with Mr Creations...I think you do know you have made it when your patterns are are in Amish Country!
Sighhhhhhh, I SO need to go there.
What a beautiful picture that last one is.
I feel there is a vital piece of information missing....what did you buy in the fabric store?
Margaret
What an incredible piece of country, I love all your pics and that you were recognised there, that is so fun!! xo
Wow wonderful ;-)
Thanks for sharing !!
Amish country in Ohio looks much like Amish country in PA! Whenever we go to PA to visit my in-laws this is much of what we see too. Although, I must say I haven't seen a beef jerky place yet. My son would LOVE that! What a great day you had!
What an amazing time you've had. Glad to see your patterns are out and about. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
You are a celebrity! How fun to see your patterns being appreciated and shown at such wonderful shops. I love Amish country, and wish I could have joined you for the day.
A lovely outing. My dad goes quite often to Amish country for work. I will have ask him if he goes to charm. I just read the trilogy about the Amish in PA and OH and it revolved around a quilt. Sisters of the Quilt, by Cindy Woodsmall. Congrats on being recognised.
Wow. It's definitely gorgeous countryside. What a beautiful place to visit, and it's especially nice that your hubby was willing to accompany you. How proud you must feel about finding your patterns in those shops! Good for you. Thanks for sharing such pretty pictures.
Never been to Amish country--they sure don't seem to live in the West!--but love your day trip's fun and frolic. Do we get to see goodies you bought at shops who carried your patterns?
Beautiful indeed....

Thank you for taking us to Amish Country! Your patterns will soon be everywhere. I hope you will show what you found in the quilt shops to bring home.
I too love Amish country - thanks for sharing all the "simple" things with us. Can't stop gazing at the last farm photo - all so tidy and every building with a proper purpose. And that laundry flapping on the line! :D Wendy
Beautiful pictures! Glad you had a wonderful trip and got to enjoy the scenery!
How in heavens name did I miss this post??!! Do you KNOW how jealous I am?? What a glorious day!
What a wonderful place to visit. I didnt realise the buggy wheels were so narrow! There is a pic here showing how you paid according to the wheel width as well as the type of vehicle in the UK on a toll road in the 1700s.

Sounds like such a fun trip! Your photographs are just beautiful. The traffic jam made me giggle. And congratulations on your celebrity status. :-)
Amish country is the best...LOVE the last photo!
I have many, many Amish ancestors, but sadly none of the Amish quilts have come my way!
