Dots, stripes, plaids, prints, oh my!
When I spied this beauty Mr. Creations said, "you can't NOT buy it for that price." Don't you love a mister who is encouraging and supportive of your habit, I mean hobby?
I love the busy-ness and upon close inspection I discovered almost no seams match. There are many lovely character "flaws" to this huge quilt top and some serious issues as well: many seams pulled apart, a hole here and there, and someone washed it so there are lots of frayed seams on the back. A very worthy rescue. I'm looking forward to spending quality time with it in the new year.

The deck of cards piece of fabric looks like a renegade with the rest of the fabrics. There are some very interesting fabrics used and lots to look at.
beautiful! oh isn't it fun just to look at all the fabrics
you found a gem!

Mr. Creations is a smart man.
I love all the little fun fabrics in it.
It'll be like a new toy to play with.
I hope you have a lot of fun re-creating this quilt. Maybe it was someone's apprentice bash at quilting?
Good one!!
Mr. C is one heck of a guy! I recognize a lot of the fabrics in this quilt from my youth! It will be so happy to get another chance at life!
Cheers!
It will be fun to see how you and scrappy get along in the new year Stephanie!
Totally yummy! I'm with Mr. Creations :)
Mr. Creations is awesome :) What a wonderful quirky quilt top - can't wait to see it as a finished quilt!!!
You're in for some fun times with that piece! Great find!
Mr. C. was absolutely right! What a treasure and what fun you are going to have with it.
This one I definitely can't wait to see what you do with it!
A sloppy quilt (especially an old one) is still loveable. Look at all those patterns! Love it! I also love your Mr's comment :D My Mr just doesn't understand :( Wendy
It just shouts Loft Creations :)
I love the colors and how they've faded into each other. What a great time you'll have with this gem.
It looks so lovely, I bet you heard it saying "please, take me home with you!", even Mr. Creation heard it! I will wake up to a beautiful new life in your hands.
it's how the quilting began - isn't it? using scraps, making quilts for practical uses..... and when they get worn out.....well..... by then you've got enough scraps gathered again, to make the next one.... long before the word "recycling" was invented.
lovely!!!
perfect start to 2013
