You would probably expect me to like dotted Swiss. All those sweet dots! This 3 yard piece was waiting just for me at my very favorite antique mall.
It was labeled aqua but I prefer to call it bluebird. The buttons were already in my stash. Spring is coming. There is evidence of green shoots popping up through the snow. Oh joy!

A favorite Easter dress I had as a little girl was made from dotted swiss! The buttons remind me of little eggs sitting in the nest waiting for momma!
Cheers!
Oh, I have ALWAYS loved dotted Swiss.
Although not dotted Swiss, I had a cape that was made for me that was a "blue" and white check - fully lined with a collar and one button closure. Your "blue" reminds SO much of that beautiful cape Mom had made for me. Thanks for the unexpected memory - all from a "dotted Swiss". LOL
My grandmother used to make all of our special occasion clothing and dotted swiss was a favorite for Easter outfits! Those buttons are exactly what she would have used too!

Wonderful rare fabric, and Stephanie I have been watching your makeover as I'm in the process too, I hope! With so many simple uncluttered looks these days, I think the projects stand out without the distraction of the background. what are you thinking? I would love to hear.

Oh, my! We wore mint green dotted swiss in my brother's wedding.
Perfect dotted swiss. My grandmother made matching dresses for my five sister and I out of six different colors of dotted swiss. My was baby blue!
I wish we could see some green sprouts but I am afraid we have more snow now then in January. Spring snow ugh
I love dotted Swiss and haven't seen it for years. I had more than one dress made from it, but it seems like there was a favorite yellow one. Thanks for reminding me about that fabric. I wonder if they will ever make it again...
Pretty! I've only ever seen that fabric in white.
Looking forward to seeing what it will turn into.

I see from the comments that I'm not the only one who remembers a special dress made of dotted swiss. Mine was light yellow. Is dotted swiss cotton? Do you have plans for it, or was it too lovely to pass up?
I prefer Bluebird too. The buttons do remind me of Bluebird eggs. It is neat that they are still on the card.
Love the dotted Swiss, I too had a favorite dress.....mine was navy blue and my little sister was the reverse, white with navy dots. My mom made so many wonderful things for us! Really like the clean design of your blog.
Oh, what a flashback I'm having! I couldn't even tell you all the things my mom made with dotted swiss! Love the color of this piece.
It is a lovely find, very pretty and soft color! Your new look for the blog is sweet, Stephanie :)
Another great fabric find. I'm a bit jealous of your antique store ;)
I may have used this fabric for a dress back in the 1960s. Loved it then and still do. Thanks for sharing.
