When my Supremes test for me I include a photo of the project they're testing. Abby did her best to ignore me. I'm going to continue offering the Long Johns PDF for only $5 until September 8. I'll be "out of the office" until then. If you make Long Johns, I'd love to see a photo.
The previous Long Johns post gives the link for Aunt Polly's flannel dots. These are not from a Layer Cake. I had fat quarters of the flannel dots and used them. It was too much yardage to require so I quickly discovered that you could easily use one Layer Cake. Cutting instructions are given for "regular" yardage as well as a Layer Cake.
As my regular readers know Abby adopted us from a local shelter. In October it'll be 4 years. I've been wanting to give back through quilting.
Last October I finally finished this quilt and have been waiting for how I could use it to do the most good for the shelter.
Mr. Creations put me in touch with a co-worker who volunteers for an organization called Friends of the Shelter that raises money to help fund the medical care of dogs. I am aware of the cost of doggie surgeries since Abby had ACL surgery last year. Dogs without forever families deserve to be well cared for too. Abby and I are donating the quilt for the organization to raffle at an upcoming event in October.
The fabric is a collection called Parlor Pets by Connecting Threads.
