Happiness is meeting blog friend, Kate Henderson, of Two Little Banshees.  She is a fellow Martingale author.  Her first book is Strip Savvy and I can't believe I forgot to have her sign mine.  I had it with me too!   Kate flew from Australia to attend her first quilt market.  We took a selfie before we said our goodbyes.

I took precious few photos with my iPhone but if you click on my Facebook page (on my side bar) I shared some entries from Martingale and Robert Kaufman.  It was so nice to share my book, projects and corduroy love up close and in person with shop owners.  I'm so happy they were curious enough about corduroy to stop by my book signing.  They were amazed at the softness of the 21-wale corduroy as well as the array of yummy solids and prints.  Just the opportunity to touch and see it used in quilts and bags had many of them heading to Robert Kaufman's booth.  Instead of "don't touch the quilts" it was "yes, please touch the quilts."

Sounds and looks like youre having a blast at the market. Enjoy :) You know we are all about tactility (is there such a word in English?) in this house, so cordouy is a must do in the near future.

I knew it would be a success! There ought to be one of your corduroy quilts in every shop next to your book so the buyers could see and touch it and be convinced.

Love that you don't mind people touching! And I do love your little Leaf quilt from last post too.

So pleased that you were so successful. After reading so much about your love of corduroy, I cut a pair of softest cord pant and used parts of the leg pieces for a pillow backing-envelope style. It worked out great and the cord is so soft to the touch. Never would have thought about it except for reading your blog and seeing what you have done with the fab fabric.

I love anything nautical and this quilt is stunning.
It's just amazing that you created something that looks so fresh and modern from vintage fabrics.
The use of the calendar tea towels is just inspired.
As for the actual quilting it is so beautifully done.
Good luck with your entry Stephanie.
If I were one of the judges your quilt would get my vote.

I somehow managed to place my comment for the nautical quilt in the wrong place - ooops.
How lovely that you were able to share your experience at Quilt Market as a new author with a blogging friend.
That's a lovely picture of the two of you.
